Follow-up Comment #14, bug #53214 (project octave):
Is that really what we'd want?
This breaks use cases like:
area(1.5:10.5, rand(10))
In Matlab, this has x limits from 0 to 12.
That's the same in Octave before this change.
Ideally, we'd need to implement the special treatment of a lower limit of 1
somewhere deeper in the code.
Additionally, what does `%!test <*>` mean?
Can we revert this change until we have a better solution?
