Follow-up Comment #26, bug#65220 (group octave):

"My suggestion is that it favors
the text before rather than after the function's initial declaration."

Again, I don't see how we can do this for classdef methods *and* be Matlab
compatible.

It seems best to me to just do the Matlab compatible thing and move on.
