Follow-up Comment #13:

pushed a docstring update for quad2d, integral2, integral3 as
https://hg.savannah.gnu.org/hgweb/octave/rev/2da9214df7a4

will leave report open for now in case there's any desire to look for better
ways to catch input errors to these functions. if not, we can probably close
this as fixed and consider the doc warning sufficient.
