Follow-up Comment #4, bug #66409 (group octave):

just to clarify - the most recent version that worked without issue was Octave
8  (which specific version?)? But uninstalling all octave versions and
reinstalling that same Octave 8 version results in the same problem you
started seeing when installing Octave 9.2.0?
