Follow-up Comment #1:

Thanks for the report.

The lyap function of the control package does not support non-symmetric Q
matrices in the Lyapunov equation. Unfortunately, this condition is not
checked. This check will be added in the next minor release 4.1.1 and I will
then change this report to "Feature request".
