Sounds familiar ... IIRC there's either a bug or a patch report for idx_vector
display in the VE, maybe 3-5 years old. I might even have had it in my
crossbuilds, but I also have a vague recollection of build or runtime issues
with it.
... found it: bug $56690. And that has a link to bug #63025 and bug #62435.
I'll close this as a dupe of bug #56690.
Sorry for the noise. But given the number of bug reports it seems like this
bug needs fixing.
