## Suggestions for promoting GNU
+<address@hidden> on
+gnu-prog-discuss suggests having a "Chief Architect" to answer the
+question of "how" things should be done in the GNU Project, while RMS
+still be the leader and person who decides "why" things should be
+done.
+
We could do video interviews with GNU hackers, like [what the Linux Foundation
did](http://rss.slashdot.org/~r/slashdot/eqWf/~3/dENUmez4444/article.pl) for
the kernel hackers.

#####Name "free software" confusing http://rt.gnu.org/index.html?q=371402
-I am sure you have heard this alot before, and your lexicon of terms seems to
confirm this, but you really, really need a better name for what you are doing.
every time it try to talk to anyone about the "free software project", they
think i am talking about software that costs no money,a nd the conversation
tends to get stuck there. i know you feel freeware is taken, but seriously, you
keep getting called freeware and open source not just because these are
normative reference terms, but because they are terms with unequivocal
meanings. People do not get stuck explaining what the term freeware means, and
usually do not get stuck explaining open source any more either. Every single
time, i have to explain what "free software" means. IDK, try libertyware, or
freedomware, something. you do good work and i would like to tell people about
it, but it is such a head ache it is not worth the effort.
