[Pan-users] convert XNews folders / "Connection to Mock Server"

I've Googled this one silly and searched the list archives, to no
avail...

I'm moving from XNews to Pan and would like to take my folder
collections along with me.  I thought I'd be able to convert the XNews
folders to Pan format using mbox2maildir but that fails.

When I click on a folder that's been created using mbox2maildir, the
headers show up; but clicking on a message in said folder yields the
following in the error log:

- Loaded 7 articles for group "tech.linux" in 0.0 seconds (1962 art/sec)
- Scored 7 entries in 0.0 seconds (7000 articles/sec)
- Connection to Mock Server for Folders, port 25 failed: Success
- NNTP handshake failed: Error reading from socket.
- Handshake failed: Error reading from socket.
- Connection to Mock Server for Folders, port 25 failed: Success

The message text doesn't show up, either.


Has anyone else run into this?  I wrote another simple conversion util
and ran an XNews folder through it, with the same results.
