[paragui-users] All zeros instead of proper button text

All the proper libraries appear to be installed- I'm using RH8, ParaGUI
1.0.3, SDL 1.2.4, and freetype 2.1.2.

Inside the buttons in the tutorials, instead of the "Hello World!" there's
just a zero for every character (spaces are spaces however).  Is this a
freetype problem?
