paragl is a helper lib (a small one) that works with SDL and allows
paragui with the help of SDL's now-defunct SDL_OPENGLBLIT rendering mode
to operate in an opengl context.
basically - paragl was a nice toolkit that no longer works.
opengl branch paragui is a complete rewrite of paragui's rendering system
to allow multiple -video- device drivers possible. Current work has been
the default SDL-based and opengl-based. There IS a dummy driver (handy
for debugging) and the beginnings of preparation for a DirectX target
(which may not be possible).
The OpenGL branch ParaGUI -is- working with the default SDL driver - it's
just the OpenGL driver which isn't 100% yet...
The idea is that a game can be constructed within it. As yet, multimedia
rendering (movies) and window contexts (such as 3D-inside-a-window) are
not yet really that easy in the paragui-opengl opengl driver... and the
font handling is slow, and the image handling still has a few ...
problems... (all to do with alpha/transparency)
oh, while there are other people messing with that tree, I'm pretty much
the main person at the moment :P
on my status:
Just finished moving again. Looking forward to enough spare time
from work, performances and practices to program again. Finally have
internet access from home again. Expect updates soon :)
G'day, eh? :)
