you wrote in src/psp_core3.c:

/* It can be a ACK for 200 ok, but those ACK SHOULD
never go through this proxy! (and should be sent to the
contact header of the 200ok */

Which part of the RFC describes this behaviour? It's bit strange for
a proxy, in my opinion no traffic should bypass the proxy and with a NAT
network behind the proxy or strict firewall rules it can't work.

But as you propose the record-route option solves this isse ;)
