Hi Tony,

Unfortunately phpgw14 does require register globals to be on.  This is
being addressed in the next release.  

Also, your proposed fix is not appropriate as phpgw is designed to work
on all versions of php from version 3 up and the new $_* super globals
were only introduced in php 4.1.  Register globals has only been off by
default since version 4.2.  It is pretty simple to make the change in
your php.ini
