Follow-up Comment #1, patch #5808 (project pspp): Isn't it redundant to have AUTOMAKE_OPTIONS and AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE? The automake manual lists this form of AM_INIT_AUTOMAKE as deprecated. So perhaps we should change it anyway.
