     Thank you for reporting this.  That function is new in GTK+ 2.12.
     I'm afraid that some of the rest of the errors are due to other
     functionality new in GTK+ 2.12, too.
     
     I will try to find substitutes.

I don't think you'll find any.  At least not if you wish to keep the 
ability to have tooltips specific to a cell in a treeview.

I'm not adverse to depending on 2.12  What do other people think?
