Installing readline fixed that error with version 0.7.7. However, when I tried to install your latest version from GIT I got a missing dosname.h error from gnulib, and noticed that the particular checkout that you recommend in the README.Git documentation does not have this file. Has the version of gnulib that should be checked out changed?

master branch, whose most recent label
is 0.7.8.? Instructions for checking out
the master branch can be found at http://savannah.gnu.org/git/?group=pspp
Then, for building, follow the instructions in the file README.Git
