I guess we must call some kind of GTK+ "alert" function when there is
new output. I am not sure that it is helpful in practice.
The function we call is gtk_window_set_urgency_hint
What that actually does, is up to the window manager.
There have been a number of requests for a "preferences" dialog to set these
kind of things on a per-user basis. Perhaps we should do that.
