Testing: Difficulties running PSPP

Hello,

I just recently installed PSPP on OS X 10.7.5 and would like to run the program.
Unfortunately PSPP cannot be found in the MacPorts folder.
Neither does the way described in "FAQ" How do I get started... work.
The Apple Script editor detects a syntax error near "(name a25)".
How to fix the problem and get PSPP running?
