Greetings!

I am writing to you to inquire about the development of Mac99 to support the G5 for emulation on QEMU. As I’m interested in attempting it.

Looking at the source code, it seems the chipset is the biggest thing missing. I was wondering if these items are in development, or if there is a technical reason for lack of progress?

Cc-ing the maintainer of that part who might have more information on this.

Depending on what you want to run it might work or need some more work. qemu-system-ppc64 -machine mac99 should be able to run Linux but won't boot MacOS X or MorphOS. Another part that might need some fixing apart from machine emulation is OpenBIOS which does not correctly describe the G5 mac99 machine so OSes that rely on it may get confused. The actual Mac ROM does not run as it needs more hardware to be emulated.

The reasons for no progress is not technical just nobody has time for it so nobody cared to do anything with it. If you want to try fixing it I have some quick intro that might help at:

If you could let me know, I would appreciate it.
