This is only part of the documentation. The PDF file is a very good
introduction to quilt and gives the user an overview of what can be
done. It's not meant to be exhaustive, which is why it is not updated
very frequently.

Indeed this would be a good idea. But even better would be to mention
it in the "CONFIGURATION FILE" section of the manual page
(doc/quilt.1.in).
