I don't think I'm doing anything strange at all.
As said before, I'm used xdm to login this morning.
Started a screen, but that shouldn't have something to do with it.
In the screened shell I just ran:
"
lpha% echo $DISPLAY
:0.0
lpha% Xnest :1 &
[1] 1021
lpha% Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/,
removing from list!
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/,
removing from list!
Could not init font path element /usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/CID/, removing
from list!
xterm -display :1
"
The command "xauth list" seems to give me the same output for both the
original xserver and xnest.
Something like:
"
lpha.ch.lugn.nu:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lpha/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lpha.ch.lugn.nu:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lpha/unix:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lata.ch.lugn.nu:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lata/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lata.ch.lugn.nu:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lata/unix:0 XDM-AUTHORIZATION-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lira.ch.lugn.nu:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lira.ch.lugn.nu/unix:0 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lita.ch.lugn.nu:10 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
lita/unix:10 MIT-MAGIC-COOKIE-1 xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
"
I havn't any clue on what can differ our setups and I'm afraid I'll have
to catch sleep now. I have an exam (how does that translate? tenta,
alltså) tomorrow morning that requires a rested mind.
I'll create an account and mail you pw and my current ip if it can give
you any help.
