Mmm, probably, maybe, I don't remember. Doesn't really matter.
I remember I had to have a wm to be able to have focus for
software keyboard input. Without wm, I don't have focus ==
only mouse(stylus) interaction. This is X bizzarities, if you 
ask me but but... 

Anyway, I couple this with keylaunch to hook things like a 
toggle of a software keyboard to a certain hardware button on 
the iPAQ.
