[rdiff-backup-users] Nevermind my previous question. I figured it out.

It turned out that I omitted the key word "echo"
after running the real rdiff-backup command and
before reporting rdiff-backup's return status.

Upshot: I ran it twice, and the second time with a
non-existant target directory.
