hii have a synology disk station DS-101 [1] which is an harddrive in a smart case with an linux running in it and you can access it through the network. i tried to install rdiff-backup on the box but failed :-( if anybody has got rdiff-backup to work on this thing i would be very happy to here from you!
so i thought perhaps i can use rdiff-backup when i mount the samba share on my host (i used cifs) but rdiff-backup stops with the attached error when i use a mounted samba share as destination.
i used rdiff-backup 1.1.5. is this a problem of unsupported filesystem functions of the cifs? greets KoS [1] http://www.synology.com/enu/products/diskstation/index.php -- Martin Kos +41-76-384-93-33 http://kos.li Say NO to HTML in mail ICQ# 13556143 Proudly running Debian GNU/Linux
