Details:
I had a problem building new version of screen on Solaris.
I've tracked it down to wrong "config.h" file which is already present in the
source archive downloaded from here:
ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/screen/screen-4.2.1.tar.gz
For some reason I need to delete it first before it gets regenerated by
configure script. Then the package builds as expected.
This is OK as a workaround. However, I believe the file should not be there in
the first place. If I look to the 4.0.3 archive, for example, there is only
config.h.in.
For your information, in the latest archive there is also Makefile with
version number 4.2.0. Again, a little messy.
We are using original packages in an automated build environment so when there
is some file which is not supposed to be there, it can lead to unnecessary
errors.
Yes, it is a minor issue but would you consider fixing it, please?
Thanks,
Jan
