Details:

list of contents never be visble soon after organizer is opened     ( it
shows in organizer )
usually the list of contents will be visible when we try to add new
content but when we try to organize and doing nothing we click on
add content we will not be able to see the previous content list   (but can
see the view pane and add content pane ) *what if 10 or 15* authors are
working in parallel and want to see the list ---- just an imagination !!!!*
