Plan right now is to ship Skelly with systemd for desktops (you
probably don't want Inkscape, GIMP, Blender and GNOME on your server)
and then release Skeleton Server, which is based on Devuan, and will
come with a series of essential system tools like mariadb, apache,
emacs, haproxy, htop, rsync, gitlab and sl.
If you're familiar with tasksel on Debian right now, taskskel is our
version and will enable you to quickly add things we think are
essential and remove things you don't need.
No, systemd on the desktop where its okay. No systemd on the server
where it can be a burden.
