Hi Chris, which version of sa-milter are you using ?
i had problems after upgrading from spamassassin 2.5 to 3.0   caused by
an illegal character (see
http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/spamass-milt-list/2004-10/msg00017.html ) 

i upgraded my sa-milter to the latest version and it worked from then on
:)
