Orca automatically switches to the current language of the user
interface according to your locale setting. Speech Dispatcher then uses
the default voice for this language. You can use the following command
to test SD setting:
spd-say -l en hello
Use the proper language code instead of 'en' for your locale language.
You can also use my patch which adds synthesizer/voice selection
capabilities to the Orca SD backend. This will allow you to select the
voice conveniently from within the orca preferences dialog. See Orca
bug http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=455308 for more information.
Let's start a new thread if there are some more problems with that...
