Hi fellow mentors for GNU,
Maybe others have been confused about the mentor registration like I did.
If you are mentoring for one of the projects listed at
http://www.gnu.org/software/soc-projects/ideas-2012.html
then you need to do two things:
1) Register as a mentor with Google.
Go to http://www.google-melange.com/ and click on "Or register as a mentor".
This requires you to create a Google account.
Note (for preserving your own freedom): You can create a Google account
for any email account that you have. Also, the Firefox option '-P' helps
you separating your browsing sessions as a GSoC mentor from all the
other web browsing that you do.
2) Tell Google about your connection with GNU.
Go to http://www.google-melange.com/gsoc/org/google/gsoc2012/gnu
and click on "Request" to become mentor for GNU Project. Then fill
out the form.
3) Once you have done this, you should see it on the "My Dashboard" view:
Request/Invite = Request; Role = Mentor; Organization = GNU Project.
Apologies if I'm repeating well-known things; I did not find this info
in the archives of this mailing list, nor was it stated on gnu-prog-discuss.
