sooth my brain
Good, good :).
My current plan is to add those tests directory by directory to
tp/tests/.
Ok.
Even though there should remain only a few tests, as I don't plan to
put real manuals there, this still would increase even more the
number of files. Maybe the texi2html tests could be removed then?
Sure.
Or even texi2html?
It should probably stay in CVS.
Should I wait or proceed with those additional tests?
Proceed.
However, here's my much bigger concern with the tests: it takes too long
to run! I doubt (m)any installers would be patient enough to sit
through make check. I don't run make check for coreutils and automake
any more, for example, because I'm just not willing to sit around
forever waiting, I want to be done and move on to the next thing.
So I wonder about having make check just run a subset of basic tests,
that everyone can do, and then have check-all to run them all.
Unfortunately, automake doesn't have any support for that. So maybe
it's not feasible. I haven't really thought about it. Perhaps I should
raise the point with the automakers.
Thanks,
k
