From /var/log/messages, I selected a typical PID (90734) which died.
I searched for it in tpop3d.log and this is what I got:

Nov 27 10:07:18 ns2 tpop3d[41560]: fork_child: address@hidden(62.8.65.22):

address@hidden' with mysql; child PID is 90734
Nov 27 10:07:18 ns2 tpop3d[90734]: quit: signal 11 post_fork = 1
Nov 27 10:07:18 ns2 tpop3d[41560]: net_loop: child process 90734 killed by 
signal 11 (shouldn't happen)

NOTE: By this time, I had disabled anything to do with the experimental auth 
cache.
      So it is for sure not the culprit.
