Shall work since Tramp 2.1.5.
Checked with GNU Emacs 22.0.50 and Tramp 2.1.6-pre (both the recent
CVS versions). `find-grep-dired' works out of the box. After setting
(setq grep-use-null-device t
grep-find-use-xargs t)
`grep-find' and `grep-tree' work also when you are on a buffer of a
remote host (more precise: `default-directory' is a Tramp file name).
Maybe I should extend tramp-util.el a little bit in order to avoid
manual settings.
The case for XEmacs shall be similar.
