I don't have data sheets here in front of me, but the Mega162 follows the 8051 
style pinout, while the Mega8 follows the AVR style pin out.  The 
Mega8515/8535  would be the Mega8 equivalent in the 8051 pin out.
Perhaps there is some issue there.
