'as' is the assembler. I don't know your operating system, but it tells me
one of two things.
1. 'as' is NOT in your PATH
2. 'as' is NOT your operating systems assembler. For instance, under
Windows, CL is the C/C++ compiler and NASM is the assembler.

if I try to compile a GNU Prolog program, i.e.
gplc program.pl
it comes every time the message:
error trying to execute as: No such file or directory
compilation failed
Why? Can me help somebody?
