Details:

Using weechat-curses 0.3.3 on Arch Linux x86_64 with sakura terminal
emulator.

Adding the following to [key] in weechat.conf will prevent the typing or
pasting of the caret "^" (en_US.UTF-8, US standard keyboard):

ctrl-meta2-24~ = "/bar scroll nicklist * y-100%"
