Details:
When merging buffers, like in a use case of two channels with the same name on
separate networks, normally joined by a bridge-bot, the channel name is
redundant information and there should be an option to just disable the
display of it for that buffer.
Another use case is grouping related channels to a buffer, like #fooproduct,
#fooproduct-support and #fooproduct-development. In that case, it would make
sense to be able to crop the channel name either in the middle or at the end,
with a settable crop string, which could be just "" by default, but settable
to something like ".." (or "…" on terminals supporting characters like
that). In a case like that and max length set to 9, and the crop region set at
the middle, the display would be like "#foo…duct", "#foo…port" and
"#foo…ment". If crop region is set to the beginning, and length to 4 it
would be "…uct", "…ort" and "…ent".
The weechat.look.prefix_buffer_align_max option is global and there should be
a way to set these buffer-specific.
The same for some very long nicknames in the buffer. Currently, the available
width for the channel text itself on mobile (or other small) displays is way
too cramped at times.
