Everyone:
I note as I update my cygwin installation that gcc-3.2 is out now, as well
as a gcc-mingw implementation, which previously was not part of cygwin's
standard setup. So the following may peacefully coexist on a given cygwin
install:
gcc 3.2 \__ One or the
gcc 3.1 / other of these
gcc-2 (which is 2.96 for backward compatibility)
gcc-mingw 3.2
So I will explore how ruby, swig and wxwindows behave when each of these
compilers are used to build them.
I'll also explore how VC++ 7 behaves with ruby, swig and wxwindows, since
Curt has only 6.0 right now. I also have Borland C++ 5.5 that comes with,
but can be gotten free separately from, C++ Builder 5. I've not tried to
compile Ruby with borland yet but I've wanted to.
We'll need to be able to accomodate these various configurations.
Sincerely,
Bob Calco
