[Access-activists] Public Apology

Hell oAccess Activists,

Earlier today, I hit "reply" on a message from rms. I had no idea that I did a
reply all and that the people on this list also got the message. In that note,
I talked about a bunch of personal things, none of which were of any real
importance.

I also made a comment about old access technology friend, Peter Korn and that
he now works for Oracle and suggested that their priorities regarding
accessibility may be different than those of Sun with the implication that
Oracle may not have as strong a commitment to these projects and this
technology.

This comment was meant as a purely off-hand bit of conjecture I was sharing
with rms and was not intended for public consumption. Peter Korn, for as long
as I've known him, has a tremendous amount of integrity and has done great
things through the history of technology for people with disabilities. Oracle
has stated a commitment to accessibility and, due mostly to an ignorance of
Oracle in this space, I really do not know what there agenda may be or what the
future will hold.

I sincerely regret accidentally sending this email to the activists lists as I
would never discuss such topics about specific individuals whom I hold in high
esteem to a wider distribution than an individual with whom I am trying to
communicate.

I apologize to Peter and, for the record, can say that, in all honesty, his
commitment to accessibility has not changed a bit throughout mergers and
acquisitions.

Sincerely,
cdh
