Follow-up Comment #3, patch #8186 (project autoconf-archive): I haven't worked with Clang yet, but from a bit of searching around, it seems that -pthread will either cause the compiler to complain harmlessly, or be recognized as a proper option in newer versions. What's the specific failure mode that the patch intends to avoid? Is it a hard error? Warning noise?
