OK.
But without quoting it works in most cases. AFAIN, m4 do not require this.
The bug appears only in above mentioned example.
Even if you remove

KRB5_LIBS=`$KRB[$1]_CONFIG --libs`
CFLAGS="$CFLAGS $KRB[$1]_CFLAGS"
LIBS="$LIBS $KRB[$1]_LIBS"
from macro all became to work fine.
