[avr-gcc-list] Linking libm.a?

I'm trying to compile a program which uses a multiplication of unsigned
shorts.  In the listing it says:

UNDEFINED SYMBOLS
_mulhi3

I have #included math.h. I'm using a makefile from Volker Oth's examples. Do
I need to add something to the LDFLAGS line?
