I haven't had time yet, to do any further testing on Ubuntu with the Intel driver, but I did test it on Debian (and Linux Mint Debian Edition) and it's working perfect with Intel.   So, it's definitely something Ubuntu related.  Once I have some time, I'll compile it on Ubuntu with the enable-debug option and see if I can give you any info from it (at this time though, I'm thinking seriously about moving away from Ubuntu since I don't like where things are heading in 11.04 - that Unity desktop is horrible)..  :-)

You could try to build Bino with the --enable-debug configure option,
and then run it with '-l debug'. This should give more detailed messages
about where the crash occurs. The last time someone did this for the
i965/Ubuntu problem, the crash seemed to occur when Bino tried to upload
the video data to the graphics card. We were not able to spot the
problem there; it might be the driver (though of course it might still
be a bug in Bino that we have not found yet).
