Hi Vittorio,

you can reach this goal easily. Please search the bino-documentation for the hdmi-framepacking-mode. When adding the lines to the xorg.conf, you can switch to the TV's 3D-Modes (720p60 and 1080p24) and the TV will switch on 3D-Mode automatically. I use the software disper to switch the displaymode when bino starts.
Please let me know if you can get it to work or if you need more help.

Best,
Daniel

Hello!
I've just subscribed to the list so I have to make the mandatory
compliments to the authors of bino, it is really great software and
hopefully it will evolve into something much more feature complete.

In my opinion an important feature for a 1.0 would be to be able to
drive an external 3D tv using the hdmi specifications that automatically
switch the tv into 3D mode. This would be a feature that is even missing
from most other stereoscopic players and would offer bino a very strong
feature against them.

What do you think?
Cheers
Vittorio

Hi all!

I'd like to release version 0.9.3 soon.

After that, we can start thinking about a stable 1.0 release. There are
of course still a lot of features missing when compared to other video
players, but I think that Bino now has reached a state where it is
actually doing something useful :) In your opinion, is there something
that absolutely has to be added before 1.0?

I'm thinking about having an even/odd minor number scheme, i.e.
1.0.x/1.2.x/... for stable release, and 1.1.x/1.3.x/... for development
releases. When releasing 1.0.0, we can start a new stable branch
bino-1.0 that receives only (important) bug fixes, and development can
continue on the master branch. What do you think?

Martin
