That's strange. It's mentioned in the GNU coding standards,
but I don't see any reason why it shouldn't be mentioned in
the Emacs Lisp manual as well.

No. Good idea, though. It seems to warn about a whole
bunch of non-issues, but it could probably catch something.
Can you disable specific warnings of checkdoc?
