Catching that with the current way support for math, subscript in math
and verbatim is written in font-latex would require syntactic
fontification in font-lock to work with nested constructs. This is
currently unsupported and would actually be nice to have for docTeX
mode as well. Maybe I can cook up a patch for font-lock.el after the
release.
