Why? Isn't it a much easier to handle application then Mac OS X?

No change. Before it was to t.

Because Emacs is as stupid as Perl and does not understand so simple  
things as in

        sh -x ./shell-script

Except for the variable window-system's value it is the same  
environment as for the X client GNU Emacs 23.0.60.


I launched Emacs.app again and set it up to use no process-connection- 
type, then auctex.el and preview-latex.el were loaded. Again, no PNG  
file was saved on disk.
