[Bug-AUCTeX] 11.85; C-c m not working with \label command

If I use C-c m to insert a label within a section that has not been 
labelled, I am prompted to enter an argument, as I expect should happen, 
but am supplied the prefix "sec:" no matter what the context.  (Within a 
theorem environment, for example.)

If I use C-c m to insert a label within a section that has already been 
labelled, I get the message "Symbol's function definition is void: nil" 
and no prompt.
