excellent, thanks. After sending the message, I noticed that the current
tar file unpacks into dejagnu-1.4, so the tar file should be called
dejagnu-1.4.tar.gz. either. I found it mildly confusing to have both 1.4
(in the tar file) and 1.4.0 (e.g. as reported by runtest --version); it
would be better to settle for only one of them (probably 1.4 as per GCS?).

If so, the code in runtest.exp looking for the file can/should be
simplified to find only that instance?

Yes, and maybe the html too. I think there's something in the GCS about
if/where to install html docs.
