I've now run runtest manually on Solaris 8 with --debug -v -v -v and find
the following: after several messages about Looking for library/Loading ...,
it emits
WARNING: Couldn't find tool init file
Expect Debugging is ON
Running the whole thing under truss, I find that it tries:
15150:
access("/amnt/zacatecas/volumes/d9/gnu/src/dejagnu/dejagnu-1.4/testsuite/lib/runtest.exp",
0) Err#2 ENOENT
15150: write(2, " W A R N I N G : C o u".., 38) = 38
i.e. access $srcdir/testsuite/lib/runtest.exp, which doesn't exist, and
fails with the message I get regularly on IRIX 6.2/Tru64 V4.0F, but on
Solaris 8 only if running the relevant runtest command manually ;-(
