Thanks!  I'll keep on using the older binary for the time being.  Maybe
I'll roll out a binary with the fix eventually, or whatever.  It's good
to know it's a very small fix.

I got myself thinking that maybe the reason it works for grep but not so
well on gawk is that grep operates on single lines, whereas gawk may
have to match regexps to multi-line text.
